Welcome to Christ Episcopal Church Springfield
Christ Episcopal Church is an Anglican Parish chartered in 1887, serving the Springfield, Illinois community from a historic stone building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Located one block from the Lincoln Home National Historic Park and the Illinois Governor's Mansion, our congregation is committed to spiritual growth, community engagement, and preserving architectural heritage. We offer traditional worship services in a welcoming environment with opportunities for all ages to connect through Sunday School, adult education, and fellowship. Our historic sanctuary hosts two weekly services featuring Holy Eucharist, with musical elements currently evolving as we seek new leadership for our music program. The church provides accessible facilities, free parking, and childcare services for infants and preschoolers during both worship times. As a parish in transition, we remain dedicated to renewal while maintaining our foundational role in Springfield's religious and cultural landscape. Our mission emphasizes spiritual community, historical preservation, and service to both local and global Anglican networks.
