Services
Worship Services
Our weekly worship services combine traditional liturgy with contemporary relevance, featuring music from choirs and handbells, scripture-based sermons, and intergenerational participation. During June through August, services begin at 10:00 AM. All services include communion on the first Sunday of each month and incorporate visual arts during liturgical seasons. Services are available via live stream on our YouTube channel for those unable to attend in person.
Food Pantry
The weekly food pantry serves over 1,000 individuals monthly, including 325 children and 200 seniors. We partner with UGArden to provide fresh produce and collaborate with Campus Kitchen to distribute 600+ hot meals weekly. Our hunger action initiatives include food collection drives, meal preparation programs, and advocacy for systemic solutions to food insecurity while maintaining our certification as a PCUSA Hunger Action Congregation.
Youth Programs
Middle and high school youth gather weekly for recreation, meals, and faith-based programming led by ordained staff and trained volunteers. Our programs include seasonal outings, mission trips, and intergroup activities with other Presbyterian youth. Special initiatives like the Covenant Birthday Brigade provide monthly birthday cakes for children in homeless shelters, fostering community engagement and spiritual development.
Community Outreach
Through local and national partnerships, we address homelessness, LGBTQIA+ advocacy, and legal access. Programs include Habitat for Humanity builds, the Athens Free Clinic, and AATJ Legal Pop-Up Clinics. Our Green Dream Team promotes sustainability while Knitters & Knotters create blankets for those in need. We host community groups and provide meeting space for various organizations serving vulnerable populations.
Children's Education
Age-appropriate Sunday School classes use the Growing in God's Love curriculum to engage children in scripture through storytelling, art, and drama. Juniors (K-3rd grade) and Middlers (4th-7th grade) meet weekly during the school year, while nursery care is available for younger children. Our programs emphasize wonder, creativity, and spiritual formation in a welcoming environment that includes worship bags for all ages.
