Established in 1826, the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum stands as a testament to California's rich history and cultural heritage. Operated by the Friends of Rancho San Pedro, our mission is to foster community awareness of early Californian history through museum programs, educational resources, and preservation efforts. As a National Register of Historic Places landmark, we offer immersive experiences including guided tours, educational workshops, and cultural events that connect visitors with the legacy of the Dominguez family and the region's Spanish colonial roots. Our volunteer-led school tours align with state and national curriculum standards, providing students with hands-on learning opportunities about 18th- and 19th-century Californian ranch life. The museum's 17-acre grounds feature historic gardens, event spaces for private rentals, and interactive exhibits that showcase the evolution of Southern California's landscape and communities. Through partnerships with local institutions like California State University Dominguez Hills, we maintain extensive archival collections and host public programs that celebrate diverse cultural traditions, from Dia de Muertos celebrations to historical reenactments of the Battle of Dominguez Hills.
