Should your pet become lost, veterinarians and animal welfare workers can scan your pet for the microchip and contact you using the information the chip provides. This is a short procedure that most pets tolerate well. For very small or fractious pets, sedation may be required. A microchip can also be implanted at the time of spay/neuter when the pet is already under anesthesia.

Ultrasonography allows our doctors to gain more in depth information about the appearance of your pet's organs than regular radiography (x-ray) can provide. Ultrasounds are often evaluated in conjunction with regular radiographs to aid in a complete diagnosis. This type of imaging is often used to evaluate the abdominal organs, including the liver, spleen, kidneys and bladder.

This modern diagnostic tool offers better contrast and quicker results when compared with traditional radiography. Since the images are digital, they can also easily be sent to specialists for evaluation if necessary. X-rays help our doctors evaluate the skeletal system, heart, lungs, and other internal organs. Over the years, radiographs have helped us diagnose all sorts of problems including intestinal obstructions, broken bones, allergic lung disease, abdominal masses, bladder stones- the list goes on!
