read moreA microchip is a form of permanent identification that is implanted with a needle under your pet's skin, usually around the shoulder blades. Should your pet become lost, veterinarians and animal welfare workers can scan your pet for the microchip and contact you using the information the chip provides. This is a short procedure that most pets tolerate well. For very small or fractious pets, sedation may be required. A microchip can also be implanted at the time of spay/neuter when the pet is already under anesthesia.

This type of imaging is often used to evaluate the abdominal organs, including the liver, spleen, kidneys and bladder.

Since the images are digital, they can also easily be sent to specialists for evaluation if necessary. X-rays help our doctors evaluate the skeletal system, heart, lungs, and other internal organs. Over the years, radiographs have helped us diagnose all sorts of problems including intestinal obstructions, broken bones, allergic lung disease, abdominal masses, bladder stones- the list goes on!

read moreOur groomer, Aaron Williams, has been with us since we opened our new location in early 2014. Before joining our team, he had been in the pet care industry for over fifteen years. He spent over four years as a veterinary assistant at Hampton Cove Animal Hospital, here in Huntsville, and at Indian Springs Animal Clinic in Pelham while studying biology and business at The University of Alabama in Birmingham. He managed a Superpetz grooming salon for two more years, before opening his own salon and pet store in the Birmingham/Homewood area.
