About Us
read moreClays Mill Veterinary Clinic is one of the few American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited facilities in Kentucky. To be AAHA certified we must have our hospital meet the most rigorous published standards of care in the veterinary industry. Our hospital has been evaluated on over 900 specific points, including everything from radiology and surgery to medical record keeping, pharmacy, and boarding. In order to maintain certification by AAHA, every three years our hospital is inspected and reevaluated.
Emergency Services
read moreUnlike manyveterinary clinics in Lexington, we want you to be able to reach us after hours. We understand that in an emergency, you want to see someone you know and trust. We also understand that sometimes you aren't sure if your pet is having a true emergency and you just want to talk to someone who knows your pet and can help you decide if you need to be seen immediately, or if you can wait until regular hours. Our clients have our doctors' personal cell numbers to text or call in just these situations.
Veterinary Surgery
read moreWe know the thought of surgery can be scary. At Clays Mill Vet Clinic we make every preparation to make sure you and your pet are as comfortable as possible. Every pet gets a complete exam on the day of surgery. A complete pre-anesthetic blood panel is performed to check organ function and electrolyte status. Animals are on IV fluids during the procedure to ensure they maintain adequate blood pressure. During the procedure they are monitored by an ECG, a blood pressure monitor, a pulse-oximeter machine to monitor oxygen saturation, and a trained veterinary assistant who checks your pet's vital signs constantly throughout the procedure.
