Hi, i am Dave Raphael, the owner of Cal-Native Landscaping. I can honestly say that I feel our landscaping designs are by far most copied of any landscaping firm in the Bay Area. Why do I say this? Because for years I have had customers call me and tell me that their neighbor is outside in their front yard with their landscaper, photographing and sketching the garden that we installed. It's easy to understand why: with my unique plant range, graceful curves mixed with artistic stone work, and gently mounded gardens, it's a look that is hard to beat.

read moreSince he was born and raised in the Bay Area, he thought he should use a name that made it clear that he spoke English, and that he had grown up here. So the name Cal-Native was born. This turned out to be a great name for the business, but unfortunately, it gives the impression that we only use plants that are native to California. While we use native plants where possible our primary goal is to create a garden with year-round interest.
