We're a non-profit organization. The fulfillment of a dream came about, with the aid of the City of San Mateo, when the San Mateo Garden Center was dedicated in 1975. The goal of the center is to provide, encourage and preserve beauty in the community by sharing garden experience and delivering the opportunity for volunteers to participate. We currently have a Garden Shop that offers plants for sale to the public. This is a fund-raising enterprise as well as an ongoing educational and horticultural propagation center.

read moreSan Mateo Garden Center is a wonderful venue. We are located at 605 Parkside Way, San Mateo. We have a large main hall that seats 115 people and a smaller room that seats 38 people. This room overlooks the lower garden. Set up for an event, includes tables, chairs. We offer kitchen facilities. We also have a beautiful gazebo and patio where many weddings are held. It overlooks the pond and a bubbling waterfall. Receptions, cocktail parties, meetings, anniversaries, memorials, are often held at this location.

read moreThe San Mateo Garden Center is based upon our community and garden lovers, who joined and continue to join together with gifts of money to support the San Mateo Garden Center. We created a serene venue of more than an acre of gardens in Beresford Park. The entrance is on Parkside Way, just west of the Alameda De Las Pulgas. The buildings contain a kitchen, as well as meeting rooms equipped with tables and chairs. An ideal setting for meetings, workshops, flower shows, weddings and social events.
