Our parking lot is closed to vehicles on Sunday mornings, to allow for seating during our outdoor service. However, free parking is open to Calvary at Melwood Training Center (formerly Linden Resources) on 23rd Street just west of the church. There is a small parking lot adjacent to the church as well as street parking around the church. read moreCalvary United Methodist Church officially launched in 1923 in what is now Crystal City in Arlington, VA. In 1917, an ecumenical group of Christians gathered for Bible study and prayer and inquired if there would be a church or denomination that would provide a permanent presence and building for worship. At that time, the Methodist Protestant Church, one of several churches that became the United Methodist, stepped forward. Since then, Calvary has had a powerful impact on the community and sent people forth in ministry and mission around the world.

read moreOne of our mission opportunities is to donate non-perishable foods that are either canned, "pop-tops", or read-to-eat. You can donate by leaving them in the bin by our elevator lobby on Grant Street. Currently, we have volunteers providing lunches to be distributed to those in need in the Arlington area. Please consider the covenant we all have to live in community together at Calvary and to keep each other safe. Dress - As the service is outside, please feel free to dress in clothing that is comfortable for the weather. The service will not go on if it is raining - we will notify all who registered as early as possible, though please check the weather before you leave. Parking in the church's lot is generally limited, and is closed to vehicles, while we hold the outdoor service (as worshipers sit in the parking lot).
