Christ Lutheran Church, in Long Beach, is a community of believers dedicated to praising and celebrating Jesus Christ. Responding to God's loving word, through the healing power of the Spirit, we welcome all, nurture growth in faith, worship in varied ways and reach out to those in need. The inspiration for this work came from a smaller piece in the private collection of Pastor Jim Bessey. Bill hand-carved the statue in pine, then added the stain and gilding to complete this piece.

Our History
read moreWhat started as a dream in January 1956, Christ Lutheran Church became a reality in December of that year. Ground was broken for our sanctuary in November 1957 with dedication in May 1958. The education building was constructed three years later in 1961. Blessed by many gifted leaders, lay and clergy, we today celebrate worship with Holy Communion as our main emphasis in gathering together on Sunday morning. We believe that Holy Communion is open to everyone because Jesus is the host of the meal and Jesus turns no one away.
Youth
read moreSunday School - Children are excused immediately following the Children's Sermon and will return to worship around the Passing of the Peace. All children, Kindergarten through 5th grade are welcome to attend. This ministry meets on the second floor of our Education Building. Music Makers A Christ Lutheran Preschool-specific ministry for music enhancement led by the Director of Worship and Music, Brian. Kaleidoscope - is a program for youth, Kindergarten through 5th grade that meets on Tuesday afternoons at 4:30pm.
