Christ United Methodist Church

The Rev. Robert A. Crum was sent to Davenport to organize the 1st new Methodist congregation in the area in over 40 years. On July 1, 1965 he moved his family into the 1st parsonage and two weeks later rented the banquet room at Thirty Lanes Bowling Alley. He arranged to have a curtain block off the bar from the Church area. Fifty-seven people attended the 1st worship service on July 18, 1965 and officers were appointed to carry out church responsibilities at the planning session that followed.
