
We're remembering the life and times of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This month as his birthday is commerated on January 18. Dr. King was the chief spokesman for nonviolent activism in the civil rights movement, which successfully protested racial discrimination in federal and state law. He was assassinated in Memphis TN in 1968. Dr. King is recognized as a martyr by two Christian churches. A Baptist minister, King became a civil rights activist early in his career.
