Great staff
I recently had to make the difficult decision to have my 14 year old Labrador retriever put to sleep because of her failing health in her old age. The staff at CVC were so helpful, understanding, and kind during such an impossibly difficult time for me. Additional, unexpected touches like sending me a sympathy card and including my dog's paw print stamps and the lovely paw print impression box that was given to me when I picked up her ashes mean the world to me... I never would have thought of such keepsakes during the difficult time leading up to saying goodbye, but it's awesome that they and their crematory partner are looking out for their clients at such a difficult time.

We have taken many of our pets here and they are usually pretty good. Our dog that is about 13 has been brought there multiple time for being itchy and trying to find out the problem of why, was first just put on prednisone and nothing was ever really done to figure or why he was itchy. Now no one even animals should be on that medication very long let alone continually which he was. After I'm not sure how many visits one of the vets told me it was food allergies to not give him any food he has had before. Well that made sense. I asked the vet if there was any kind of test to find out what exactly he was allergic to (there's ones for people makes sense for there to be one for animals). I was told oh no there's no test for that it's trial and error don't give him any food with chicken or beef that's the most common food they are allergic to. So from then on we start buying the expensive food with the money we don't have and he's still miserable. Fast forward a couple of years and take him to the vet in the town we recently moved to and that vet right away said we can do a blood test to find out the foods he's allergic to and we will hey a list of all the brands and types of food wet and dry and treats he can have. He also has a growth on his foot that isn't cancerous or anything and it doesn't interfere with his walking or daily life that they constantly wanted to remove. Which is completely unnecessary because there's no reason to remove it except to make his back paw look nice. He got the blood test, exam and a complimentary nail trimming for under $300.

Excellent service
My cat had to be quarantined for ten days and they went above and beyond making sure she was comfortable and I was comfortable with leaving her there. They let me bother them for updates (multiple times during those 10 days) and they were incredibly considerate and polite the entire time I was interacting with them. When I came to pick her up, the vet came out to talk to me and give me a very detailed rundown of everything they did for her. They made a crummy experience much more bearable. I will not be using any other vet from now on!

Thanks for everything!
We cannot say enough about Dr. Schlapp and his staff. They are so compassionate, caring, and helpful. Our dog has been going here for about 14 years. The staff was wonderful with Anna, always patient with her needs. Dr. Schlapp is so knowledgeable, taking his time to always talk and listen to us. Countryside is a very family friendly clinic. Anna is no longer with us but if we get another dog, we will definitely come back to Countryside.

Professional
I took my 3 dogs in today, while 9 months pregnant. Talk about stressful! The staff did everything they could to help including walking one of my dogs out for me so I could calm my toddler. The staff was knowledgeable, extremely helpful, and very reasonably priced. I have a 95lb rott shepherd mix who is scared easily and pees when scared, a border collie who was acting very protective and nervous today, and a new puppy. Despite the chaos, the techs took the time to gain each dogs trust and were understanding to each of their individual needs. I was incredibly impressed by everyone's demeanor and professionalism. Incredibly happy to call countryside our new vet office.

Dog and cat microchipping is a simple procedure. We simply inject a microchip for pets, about the size of a grain of rice (12mm), beneath the surface of your pet's skin between the shoulder blades. The process is similar to a routine vaccination, takes only a few seconds, and your pet will not react any more than to a vaccination. No anesthetic is required.

In fact periodontal or gum disease, caused by the build-up of plaque or tartar, has become the number one health problem for dogs and cats. It is estimated that without proper dental care, 80% of all dogs and 70% of all cats will show signs of oral disease by age three. Problems with pet oral health usually begin with plaque, a sticky bacterial film that forms continuously on your pet's teeth.
