We facilitate conversations and experiences around art. The Currier Museum aims to be nimble and creative in using its distinctive collection of historical and contemporary art. We connect the art of the past with art of the future through an artist-in-residence program based in our community. The museum teaches art as a way to understand the creative process in all fields - a traditional practice in American museums which we continue to believe is vital to our role.

read moreThis first-of-its-kind museum program was created to help Granite State residents impacted by the opioid crisis. The program provides support for loved ones whose family members suffer from substance use disorder, our country's #1 public health concern. The Art of Hope engages participants in guided conversation in the galleries and a special art activity, using art as a conduit for generating understanding, awareness and healing. The Art of Hope is supported in part by a grant from the NH State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional support from Anthem and Riverstone.

read moreThe Currier Museum of Art is dedicated to connecting people to art. We display major works from the Renaissance to today, with core strengths in European, American, and contemporary art. Special exhibitions offer even more to see. The museum's two houses designed by Frank Lloyd Wright will be open for guided tours as soon as possible. The museum opens its doors to the community through its free July Block Party, free admission every second Saturday of the month for New Hampshire residents, and through its special programs.

While in residence, artists consider the collection and community, and refresh our perspectives on the role of the museum. Some artists may develop projects or exhibitions based on their time here.
