Set up in 1919 by a group of local businessmen, Dallas Athletic Club's home was originally an eight story building in Downtown Dallas. Situated at Elm, St. Paul and Live Oak Streets, DAC included an athletic facility, a barber shop, billiards, guest and domestic suites, magnificent ballrooms, dining rooms, lounges, handball and squash courts, swimming pools and a health services department. Completed at a total cost of three million dollars, this innovative and trend setting club welcomed Members and guests into a place where they could relax, feel at home and see familiar (and sometimes famous) faces.
