The direction of my work is based to a huge extent on my fascination with Japanese painting and printmaking from the Edo Period After leaving Japan, Tom set out for Europe, living and working as an artist in Italy, Spain, and France for two years, where he continued to evolve his series of paintings. Upon my return to Tulsa, I decided to open a working studio gallery to feature my work as well as those of other artists Tom chose the Floating World Gallery name as a tribute to the masters of the Edo Period, which was the golden age of pure Japanese art.
