Early Headstart
Religious Organization in Peoria, AZ
Delivering aid. Creating hope. Serving all. It is what we do. We've been doing it in Arizona for more than 75 years. What started in 1933 to advocate for kids and to serve people suffering through the Great Depression, has grown to an range of programs serving our most vulnerable residents throughout Central and Northern Arizona. We're one of the main social service agencies Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix. Our aim of service is established in Scripture: Jesus called upon his disciples to feed the hungry.

About Us
read moreToward the end of the Great Depression in 1933, Catholic Charities opened an office in downtown Phoenix with our first director, Eileen Ward, advocating for vulnerable children. Over the years, Catholic Charities staff and volunteers continued to monitor the needs of central and northern Arizona communities and responded by providing life-changing services that protect and nurture children, help strengthen families and assist individuals in crisis - growing to serve communities. We continue the thread of our early work today by delivering services in foster care, adoption and pregnancy counseling, North Star Youth Partnership and Westside Head Start early education.
