Family Worship Center Church started September 4, 1991 with approximately fifteen adults and a handful of kids. In Spring of 1992, through the ministry gift of Pastor Stokes, the ministry experienced growth in the Spirit and in the natural. The tiny, eighty-seat sanctuary situated on Carpenter Road was no longer huge enough to house the ministry. After several months of praying, travailing, sacrificing and seeking the Lord, in July 1992 the congregation of one hundred and seventy-five secured a million dollar facility on Flushing Road which contained sixteen classrooms, twelve offices.

The goal of The School of Prayer is to equip Christ followers around the world in areas of prayer through Biblical instruction and practical experience. The School of Prayer is a two-day event that takes place on two Saturdays in the month of October. Each session includes 4 hours of instruction, along with practical hands on prayer exercises that enable you to put into action what you have learned.
