With the veteran safety tandem of Jeffery Gowdy and Adrian Horton no longer at Fayetteville State, the Broncos' secondary will look to a new leader this fall; Wilmington native John Hicks. A redshirt senior, Hicks has been with FSU since 2006 and has grown into one of the conference's top cornerbacks. In 2009, Hicks had 24 tackles, four pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery that helped the Broncos to their 3rd Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) title.
