We're an independent, fundamental Baptist Church situated on the N side of Bakersfield, California. 1st Bible Baptist Church was established in 1964 by a group of people who saw a need for a Bible preaching church on the N side of the city. 1st Bible Baptist Church began a Christian school ministry, Golden State Baptist Schools, in 1979. We currently have grades K-12. Our school is a member of the Golden State Association of Christian Schools.

My wife Linda and I moved to Bakersfield, California, from Englewood, Colorado, with our two young daughters and began a ministry that has taken us to many and varied places. More than wanting you to visit our web site, we would like to have you visit our services. We are an old-fashioned, Baptist church and we have not changed our beliefs, our stand, or our Bible.

read moreWe love visitors at First Bible Baptist Church, and we look forward to having you. Our Sunday morning services are divided into classes for all ages followed by a morning worship service and a junior church for the children. Sunday evening service is a single combined service, and Wednesday evening service is a Bible study service with a special program for the kids. We provide van transportation for Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services, and there is a nursery available for all services.
