Foster Adoptive Mission

FAM, the Foster Adoptive Mission, is a federally-funded collaborative of regional organizations committed to placing kids in safe, nurturing homes in Northwestern Connecticut. In 1997, FAM started as part of a statewide initiative conceived by the CT Department of Children and Families to aid identify the unmet requirements of foster families. This initiative speedily grew into a vehicle that provided an exceptional opportunity for regional child welfare suppliers and other concerned citizens to collaborate and share resources and ideas aimed at supporting and recruiting foster and adoptive families.
