Gilman Screen Co. Was born as a hardware store in 1954 in San Francisco and its owner in the 1970's turned it into a window and door screen firm. In 1983 Dick Gilman sold Gilman Screen Co. To Larry Lowenthal. Larry had a highly successful 1st year in business and realized that he was working with a wealth of general contractors who were doing work on homes throughout San Francisco. In 1984 Larry moved out of his shared warehouse location on Donnor Ave. To a new warehouse on Napoleon St. And added some kitchen and bath cabinet displays.
