Our church heritage started with the creation of a Sunday School class in the home of Miss Mary McDonald. From this tiny beginning evolved the creation of the Clayton Street Baptist Church in 1891. For seven decades, the people worshipped and served at this location. The church became a great influence and well known throughout the state. The decade of the '60s brought rapid change to the area around the church and the people voted to relocate to the present site.
