Social & Welfare Services in Cincinnati, OH The Center was established in 1974 by a committee of churches and neighborhood activists who saw the need for a center to support the independence of older adults. From a single social worker working out of her car, the Center has expanded to a team of 11 experienced, dedicated employees located in an historic building in the middle of Hyde Park.

read more55 North is an independent, community based non-profit. We receive support from the Ohio Department of Aging through the Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio, United Way, neighborhood churches, foundations and private individuals. Based on federal funding, we cannot charge for lunch, transportation or social services so that anyone, no matter what their financial situation, may benefit from services. We do, however, ask for donations for all services to support our mission to enhance the lives of seniors.

read moreAnyone 55 & older can receive supportive services from the case manager and participate in wellness and learning activities. 55 North's transportation services and home-delivered meals are only available to seniors living in East End, Hyde Park, Madisonville, Mount Lookout, Oakley, O'Bryonville, and South Norwood. Medicare assistance by the case manager, and Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP) counselor, to help those nearing eligibility understand their options and to help current beneficiaries make decisions during Open Enrollment.
