Jewish Vocational Service
Social & Welfare Services in Independence, MO
Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) was set up in 1949 to help Holocaust survivors, refugees, and displaced persons build new lives in this country. By focusing on their vocational and educational requirements, JVS played a major role in the successful integration of 100's of immigrants into the Kansas City community. In addition, JVS developed services to suit the vocational rehabilitation requirements of returning World War II veterans, a significant number of whom were disabled.
