College in Shreveport, LA Loyola College Preparatory School, with a current enrollment of 425 students, is the only four-year Catholic high school for one hundred miles. Established by the Jesuit order as an all-male institution, Loyola 1st opened its doors as St. John's in 1902. The name changed to Jesuit High School in 1960. The name was changed to Loyola College Prep to honor the founder of the Jesuit order, St. Ignatius of Loyola, in 1982. It became coed in 1987. Loyola is situated in an urban setting and surrounded by hospitals, churches, a cathedral and a Catholic middle and elementary school.

The Loyola experience creates a gateway for personalized student growth and challenges that effectively prepare students for college and beyond. Approximately 98 percent of Loyola students attend college. Faith and Catholicism are integrated into each school day in conjunction with St. John Berchmans Cathedral and the Catholic Diocese of Shreveport.

read moreThe Flyer Alumni Association was established in 1980 and represents all alumni from St. John's, Jesuit High School and Loyola College Prep. Our mission is to support the school in a variety of ways while encouraging and enhancing fellowship among all graduates through countless annual events and gatherings. There is no membership fee to join, and all are welcome! Reunions are held each summer and fall, often in conjunction with homecoming. A typical "reunion weekend" includes a gathering at the homecoming football game, a tour of Loyola College Prep on Saturday followed by an evening event at the home of an alumni or local restaurant.
