Prior to the store's grand opening, founders Jenna and Ian Fasack had been living in downtown San Diego for six years and experienced, 1st-hand, the urban renaissance that had revitalized the neighborhood. They dreamed of a local dog destination for pedestrian-friendly downtown. With her Pug, Sam, as her muse, Jenna left her corporate career behind to pursue her passion for pooches and started to work on shaping what would become Lucky Dog.
