Mesmera's Belly Dance
read moreBeautiful words from my beautiful student. Hi There. I finally have a moment to write back to you. I must say reading the first note you wrote was a very nostalgic experience for me. We certainly had a very special connection and you played an immensely important and vital role in a period of great transformation for me. I used to call you my "Mother of Dance". But, really you were much more than that. I'm not sure I ever shared this with you. Your classes and presence helped to open the gates of my femininity, and grace - self love and confidence - as well as the gates of magic and interpretation of the unseen through expressive movement.

A scarf tied at your hips is a simply way to spice things up. Adding a coin belt adds sound and helps you see and feel your hip movements. Once you come to class, you'll get more ideas of what to wear. Some dancers like to dress up while others keep it simple. DO I NEED ANY SPECIAL "EQUIPMENT"? I teach Bellydance with Veils and Finger Cymbals, so if you have them, bring them!

I am so glad to be hearing your voice again, feeling your amazingly bright spirit and absorbing your nuanced teachings. Zoom requires you to have a camera on your laptop, ipad/tablet, deskcam, etc. If you are already doing this then you're all set. If not, we're on this learning curve together until we have the luxury of really dancing in group classes and events again.
