For over three-quarters of a century Miller-Motte has been a reputable leader in private career education. Judge Leon Motte established the school in 1916 in Wilmington, North Carolina. The school offered the Wilmington legal community with a tiny training center for courtroom stenographers. Through the years the college founded other campuses in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. In 1929, Phillips Business College, then known as Phillips Secretarial School, was established in Lynchburg, Virginia by the late Marjorie Green Phillips.

What to Expect
read moreDeciding to attend college is a big step in your life! It is exciting, but can also seem overwhelming at times. With all of the college admissions information out there, it is hard to know what to expect. In order to help you understand the process, we will cover some of the basics here: assessments, Foundations Courses and applying for financial aid.* When you enroll in Miller-Motte, you will be required to take the Smarter Measures assessment. Depending on your program selection, you may also need to take the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (WBST) and/or the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Examination (SLE).
