About Us
read moreWhen classes fill for more than a couple weeks, we will add additional Thursday night slots. NEDTC Steps training is a fun way for you and your dog to learn to communicate and build foundational skills for excellent manners. We began with the AKC Canine Good Citizen Exam, and then broke each exercise down into their component parts, which are taught in 4 levels. Each level has set skills and goals for you to meet, and you and your dog do so at your own pace. For example, in Step1, skills such as sit, stay, loose leash walking and recall are broken down into small steps, allowing you to practice how your dog thinks and learns, while incrementally increasing duration, time and distraction for a strong solid behavior.

Our trainers have experience in many aspects of animal behavior and training. As a club, we work together to encourage ourselves and our dogs to try new things, challenge ourselves, and be creative learning new skills, whether that be remaining calm in the presence of squirrels, carrying a dumbbell over a jump, or finding a birch scented q-tip hidden under a table.

She is also a blogger for Car Talk's F.I.D.O, a senior instructor at the MSPCA, and is one of the only disc dog instructors in Massachusetts, currently teaching that class (and other sports classes, like scent work!) at Everydog in Danvers. Donna started at NEDTC as an intern in 2005 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2006.
