Patinae
Museum & Art Gallery in Stamford, CT
For thirty eight years we owned Nahan Galleries in New York, New Orleans and Tokyo. We represented many fine artists. We sold their paintings, published their graphics, distributed their art works worldwide, and acted as their agent, dealer and confidant. In 1997 we thought we had retired. However, our visions of golf courses and fishing vacations soon gave way to visions of art and antiques, and so the enthusiasm started all over again. Patinae, the fine finish, turned into a new beginning for us.

For over 40 years Ken and Sherri Nahan represented many, world famous artists, such as Rafal Olbinski, Theo Tobiasse, Max Papart, James Coignard, Oscar De Mejo, Philippe Halsman, and Andre Villers. Patinae International has exhibited and sold their paintings globally, published their graphics, and represented them as agent, dealer and confidant. This method of printing was first discovered in 1798, by Alois Senefelder, and Goya was probably one of the first artists to make truly memorable use of it.
