I am a lifelong animal lover and pet owner. I've had dogs as long as I can remember - mixed breeds, German Shepherds, a miniature schnauzer, and hounds and hunting dogs when I was growing up, and Boston Terriers, a German Shepherd, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, a mixed breed, and a Boston Terrier/Pug mix as an adult. I grew up on a tiny farm, and we had almost every animal you could - outdoor and indoor cats, gerbils, a rabbit, pigs, a cow, a goat, ponies, horses (no birds - my sister was allergic) I was the kid in high school who took care of the 40+ rats for the biology class.
