It was back in 1963 when Charlie and Pat Perrin had just added the 5th of their eventual eight kids and Charlie worked for an asphalt paving firm. Pat, realizing the growing family needed more resources, bought a pickup truck and suggested that Charlie start sealing asphalt as a 2nd job. The new project melded well with Charlie's full-time job - his employer didn't perform asphalt sealing.
