I chose to become an MFT for a number of reasons. I believe that considering the influence of a customer's relationships can assist the therapist and customer create a plan that is effective and realistic. The MFT graduate program I chose was more demanding and intensive than many other counseling programs, and I felt it would better prepare me for my career. Additionally the internship was more extensive, both in length and number of hours required, which gave me a chance to expand my skills pre-graduation.
