Potomac Riverboat
Boat Dealer in Alexandria, VA
Potomac Riverboat Company, a private firm owned by the Polak family for over three decades, started as Potomac Boat Tours in 1974. Upon building the popular and authentic split sternwheeler The Cherry Blossom, the firm changed its name to Potomac Riverboat Company (PRC) and started operating in Alexandria in 1984. A short time later PRC commissioned the building of the Admiral Tilp, named after a wonderful local historian and writer, Fred Tilp. Other vessels were then added to the fleet: The Matthew Hayes in 1994.

Please arrive at the dock 20 - 30 minutes prior to the cruise time to allow enough time. Yes, you can bring your standard bike aboard select vessels. All of our new water taxis vessels on the Wharf route feature bike racks on-board. Based on space available, we may not be able to accommodate a recumbent bike or a tandem bike or any other type of oversized bike. Our boats are used for private charters as well as public cruises, if we have a boat that is not being chartered we will have a public Fireworks Cruise.
