A federal credit union is a way for people to aid each other with money problems. Members of a credit union pool their money and lend to each other at a competitive rate. It is a co-operative organization of people with a common bond. This basic idea, more than 100 years old, is so practical that there are now credit unions everywhere in the US as well as internationally. In Hawaii alone, there are over 170 federal credit unions serving 1000's of members
