Rocco's Cafe

Caterer in Los Angeles, CA
Caterer in Los Angeles, CA In 1920 a young Italian man named Rocco Coscarelli came to America to pursue his dream. He worked for years in the North Beach institutions Fior d'Italia, Bimbo's 365 Club and The Riviera. Rocco realized his dream when he and his wife Constantina opened their own Italian restaurant in San Francisco's Excelsior District called Rocco's Fine Food. For more than three decades he ran a successful business where the key ingredients were quality, quantity, and personality. This old-school Italian recipe for success was passed down to his grandson Don, who 19 years ago opened Rocco's Cafe in his honor.

Rocco's Cafe
read moreMy husband and I were so excited to find out that Jimmy's grandson has opened a resturant named Rocco's honoring his grandfather's work. Growing up, Rocco's, on Mission St., S.F. (Excelsior District) was a family favorite for my husband's family, my family and then our favorite place to eat until the restaurant closed. My mother-in-law's favorite dish at Rocco's was the Turkey Croquettes. My daughter's favorite was Jimmy's homemade rice pudding which was kept in the glass cabinet. I loved having Jimmy's (behind the resturant grown) Swiss Chard, which was kept in a coffee can on the grill.
