Listen, I want to make money, and lots of it, but not the increased stress and anxiety that comes with it. In the HVAC trade, there are too many companies that are quantity focused rather than quality.
Silicon Valley Comfort is a small family business. It's just my fiance and I. Together, We provide 20 years of trade experience for our customers. We continue our education to be at our best. We are contributing members of the largest HVAC associations in America.
The ACCA writes the book of Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning designs, trade regulations, and standards. Silicon Valley Comfort has been accredited by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) Quality Assured (QA) program.
We educate each of our clients regarding their home's heating and air conditioning systems. We work alongside them, which helps them understand what it takes to correctly do these projects. We show them how to maintain it all once we're finished.
When projects operate with close communication between the homeowners and ourselves, our customers are much more aware of how the system works.

Our A/C went out on Monday night during the heatwave. I called 20 people who couldn't schedule me for 2-3 days and then spoke to Nina who could schedule me later that day. She and John were running a little behind because they were so busy and arrived at 8pm and had me back up and running by 9:30pm. They had 4-5 more appointments to go to that night! They did a great job and were very knowledgeable. Our pup was glad the AC was working again.

My AC stopped working right before the Great Labor Day Heat Wave of 2022. John and Nina worked me into their busy schedule even though I was up in San Mateo. They identified the problem (a bad capacitor) immediately and installed a new capacitor with a hard start kit, which should give my 10-year-old compressor some extra longevity. I will definitely call them for any future issues. It's rare to see such care and dedication to helping people in distress.

Our AC quit running on day one of an intense heat wave, and SVC was willing to fit us in on their very busy day and evening and, as it turned out, night. They immediately diagnosed the problem, and John was efficient and professional and knowledgeable and had us cooled down again in 30 minutes. They are certainly willing to go "above and beyond, " and I would definitely recommend this company.

We called on a Saturday morning because our a/c was having troubles and John and Nina were quick to pick up the telephone and arrived within hours. Both were very professional, knowledgable and helped us understand what could make the a/c more efficient. We will definitely be calling back for maintenance and when the time comes for a new unit. John installed a complete AC and heating system for me. He does excellent work. He is very thorough, pays close attention to detail, is easy to work with and his prices are competitive. The only downside is scheduling, since John is a one man company, sometimes the job previous to yours runs longer than anticipated which affects John's arrival time to your job.
This wasn't an issue with me because I am retired and John and I agreed ahead of time that either of us could reschedule at the last minute. If you don't have that kind of luxury then you might want to include some kind of clause in the contract regarding arrival times, if the work requires more than one visit.

John is always responsive and provides the best guidance and support. He installed our AC unit back in 2017 and since then has been our main guy for anything AC or HVAC. I highly recommend his services as he provides a honest and detail service.

Silicon Valley Comfort has gotten us out of a jam more than once, and always with great service and fair prices. John is extremely knowledgeable, is able to troubleshoot problems, and doesn't try to sell you on unneeded repairs or systems. They have gone above and beyond to fit us into their schedule. Wonderful experience again! Thank you so much! Last year, I moved into my new home and found our AC not working. They told me i the unit needed replacing.they also suggested a possible warranty (my 1st home). They didn't want to cancel the existing warranty.so they gave me a loaner ac to use until I was able to get repairs done. Saved my friend and my 2 small pets from baking. Thank you again!

Amazing quality of work, very focused on all the details of the installation, great mindset of spending enough time to make your AC and Heating perfect - including week-ends. Really impressed that he was willing to share knowledge over the phone and give his opinions on options for AC installation and furnace replacement with all the nuances. Our AC stopped working a day before Labor Day during the heat wave and low air quality due to wildfires. John and Nina managed to come over on Labor Day night which I couldn't believe as no contractor was available to work on the long weekend. John was able to diagnose the problem quickly and got our old AC working again! John patiently walked me through the issue and only changed the parts that needed to be changed. They are the most professional, honest and punctual HVAC company that I could have imagined. I highly recommend John and Nina!

Recently we had to replace HVAC system in our house. This is a very expensive project, I have invested a lot of time educating myself about basics and state of the art of HVAC systems, read a lot of articles on how to approach this project. One of the main learnings was that the most important thing is to pick a trustable certified contractor. When I started looking for one, I have quickly realized that I knew more about modern HVAC systems then the contractors I contacted, I could not trust such a project to those. Finally, I have contacted John and it became immediatelly obvious that he is a real enthusiast of HVAC systems, he was the right person for the job.
When Nina and John started the work I was impressed with the level of their professionalism and attention to smallest details. These guys did not try to cut any corners, cared a lot about our long term health and were trying to make sure the system will be safe and efficient. John is also a very gifted craftsman, to increase efficiency of the system he created an extra duct to the second floor and constructed everything from raw materials himself. At the end we were very happy with the system, it was elegant and efficient. We have also become friends with Nina and John, they are really nice and honest people!

I live in the bay area and usually like to call for local folks for my house repairs, garage door, water heater, and then this one, furnace. We called them as our furnace went out on the coldest night of the year. Nina picked the call and was honestly telling us our 15 years old furnace should not need major repair or replacement. Before the call, I already did some online research and saw some horror stories.
They came next morning, quickly found the broken igniter and replaced it with a compatible but better type. John also did a thorough checkout to be sure the furnace in a good working condition. The price is reasonable to me, especially considering the cold day with all people calling for helps. I'll call them to bypass the PG&E controller on my AC as I'm no longer in PG&E program. The price they quoted was also very reasonable. I'd highly recommend them. -Kenny

Silicon Valley Comfort is great to work with and super responsive. Our A/C stopped working on the 100 degree day. : I called Silicon Valley Comfort and they got me on the schedule the very next day, even offered to come very late that same evening. Very professional and honest service. I will use them again with no hesitation!

After our A/C stop working on the weekend during the heat wave, Silicon Valley Comfort was able to get us taken care of. Even with their busy schedule they were able to accommodate us. Not only do they provide 24 hour service but they were the only company that actually answered the phone. John was able to figure out the issue and explained ways to prevent it from happening again. He was very honest and I would highly recommend them.

Of course my air conditioner stopped working during this heatwave on a Sunday. John was one of the very few companies with 24/7 service. As you can imagine, he was swamped with calls. When it became evident that he would be too busy to stop by on Sunday, he sent a portable air conditioner to my home so that I could get some relief. By the way, if you've never used a portable air conditioner, They work quite well, if not a little bit noisy.
Last night around 830, Carlos stopped by on his way home from a very long day and was able to diagnose and fix my problem within 30 minutes. John and Nina were very good about keeping in touch regarding the scheduling. Should I have another HVAC problem in the future, I would not hesitate to call them.

Fast, same-day service at a fair price! Our A/C stopped working last night, on the eve of multiple days of 95 degree heat. I called multiple HVAC companies (including the company that installed our A/C), but no one answered or returned our calls last night or today. When I finally found SV Comfort on Yelp at around 8am today (Sunday), Nina immediately picked up and put me on the schedule for the day.
They had a busy day and were running late, but they kept me up-to-date on the delays and were very apologetic. I appreciated that they kept me informed of the timing. John quickly diagnosed the problem and had the right spare part in his truck. While doing his work, he also discussed several ways to improve the HVAC setup in my house but, as another reviewer noted, he wasn't pushy at all.
Just someone who was sharing his thoughts and knowledge. Our A/C works now and we are ready for the rest of the heat wave! Five stars for working on a Sunday night, providing same day service, and getting my A/C up and running again!

Jonathon came out and was professional and most if all HONEST! He found my t-stat was bad and went and found exact t-stat needed and got me back up and running on the busiest day of the year! The HVAC in my rental house was not cooling for those very hot 2 weeks of July, my renters were criying out, John was very patient to them and spent long hours to find out and fix the problems, even more, John explained situation and laid out sulutions for me, he is very experienced and very nice at the same time, their price is right! Silicon Valley Comfort is thorough and trustworthy and provides high-quality work at a reasonable price. John took the time to explain everything he was doing as he fixed our furnace, which needed several tweaks to get it working smoothly again. They were very easy to communicate with via calls and texts and were willing to work outside of normal business hours despite being in a busy season. We look forward to working with them again for preventative maintenance on our furnace.

This review is different because John never set foot in our house and solved our problem. Speaks volumes about his passion and genuineness. Having talked to multiple HVAC specialists and many more who did not return our calls, John was available on our first call. He listened to the issue patiently, asked me the right questions and explained what may be going wrong.
That led us into researching more and to take a peak ourselves if it was worth his time to come and fix it. In the process, we discovered the source of bad smell from the furnace (sparing the details here). Ultimately our problem was fixed but I still decided to leave a recommendation for his knowledge, eagerness to help, (he knew we didn't have heat) diagnose and fix the situation. Everyone else suggested replacing the unit instead of fixing a working unit. I did promise him I'll call him first, if we ever needed HVAC services in future.

John and team installed an AC coil and condenser unit to an existing heating system. They took their time to assess the existing system and provided the best quote with various options for the installation, they provided a detailed quote based on the work that was required. We had a situation where the new AC unit had a coolant leak (when unboxing), John was genuinely concerned that a brand-new unit shouldn't be installed when there was a leak.
He took the time to take the unit back to the supplier to swap it out for a new one. This showed honesty and customer care that most installers would not show, yes it took an extra day to install, but I had the peace of mind that the unit going in was not going to experience any issues once installed. The installation job was clean and made improvements to the existing heating system to allow both systems to work efficiently. I would recommend Silicon Valley Comfort for future work.
