About Us
read moreWe are a church of ordinary people serving an extraordinary God. We do our best to live according to Christ's teachings. That isn't always easy, so we do a lot to encourage one another as together we seek to grow in Christ. We don't all share the same background, but we share the same faith in God and the same passion to serve. Of course, we believe a whole lot more than this. Maybe the best way to summarize what we believe is to say we believe the Bible. That is, we believe the Bible conveys the mind and will of God.

Local Missions
read moreIt is both our duty and our delight to serve our local community. There are many ways to get involved with us at SHBC to show the love of God to Mobile in tangible ways. If you'd like to find out how you can be involved in serving with us, please contact 251-342-5320. Recently, we reminded our Sunday school leaders that Love Works is not designed to be a once per year event. I also challenged them to lead their classes to serve on mission at least once per quarter. It is our hope that Love Works is just a part of the way we "do church" - each member serving on mission for Christ in response to the many needs around us.
