St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church has a rich history. The 1st Pennsylvania-German settlers came to Erie County in 1801 in significant numbers from eastern Pennsylvania. The 1st recorded visit by a Lutheran pastor was by the Rev. Philip Muckenhaupt who traveled from Meadville on horseback. The official records of the congregation date back to August 8, 1808 when 20 kids and an adult were baptized and communion was celebrated. Traveling missionaries served the church for many years.

read moreYouth ministry is not so much about training up the "Church of Tomorrow" as it is about empowering the "Church of Today" to make a difference in their school, their neighborhood, and their world. We meet at different times to do different things together so keep checking the church calendar! If you are in grades six through twelve, you are invited to join this group every Sunday evening for games, play, adventures, service, and learning. We meet in St. John's Parish Hall (aka: gymnasium) from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.
