read moreMovement and dance are wonderful ways for children to express themselves. At The Studio School of Dance we encourage this exploration in a safe and caring environment. We believe that children have the right to learn creative movement through choreography and dancewear that are appropriate to their age and consistent with our goal of reinforcing a healthy sense of self in each child. We believe dance is an art that builds condence through self-expression, not exploitation, and our teaching methods, costumes, and dance movements reect this belief.

read moreThe Studio School of Dance moved to a new location at 118 N Clairborne Road, Olathe, KS 66062 (off I-35 and Santa Fe, next to Westlake Hardware). Our new facility is 7,000 square feet and is equipped with three studios, a large open lobby, homework/work room, kitchen and more. Two smaller studios for children's classes, private lessons and one large class room the size of a recital hall stage. Allowing rehearsals to be conducted in the actual size of the recital performance stage. Every classroom has viewing windows allowing parents/guardians to observe all classes from our reception area.

read moreTo introduce the structure and commitment of a youth company centered around the love of the art of dance. We strive to positively lead by example and exude class, unity and strength. Junior Company focuses on developing technique and abilities through exposure to a variety of people, places and experiences. All dancers are expected to attend and perform at all events. If a pre-scheduled event or illness does conflict with, or impede attendance, another dancer will be selected and/or understudies will be used accordingly.

For more information on levels see our level requirements. Age 2 - Creative Movement Ages 3-4 - Tiny Tutus Age 5 / Kindergarten - Combo 1, Intro to Hip Hop 1st Grade - Combo 2, Intro to Hip Hop 2nd Grade - Level 1 Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop 3rd Grade and Up - Level 1 Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Leaps & Turns, Pre-Pointe, Tap 4th Grade - Any Level 1 Class or above All dancers will be placed in classes based on their technique.
