Museum & Art Gallery in Lowell, MA The historic home at 243 Worthen Street was founded in 1823. Incorporating both Federal and Greek Revival characteristics, the home's main features include: An L-shaped plan, with three floors, 14 rooms and 10 fireplaces. A main rectangular block five bays huge and four bays deep, with a frame addition to the rear which appears to be original. Granite used for the front steps as well as for the foundation; double wall construction for insulation. The front facade's fenestration is rigidly symmetrical. Pairs of windows flank a central entrance.

read morePending docent availability, guided tours are offered each day from Wednesday through Saturday at 12 pm and 2 pm. The first floor of the historic house, the Parker Gallery and Whistler Park are all wheelchair accessible. The docent at the front desk can assist you with your entry. In Dummer Street parking lot behind the museum -- take next 3 rights after the museum front door and enter from Market Street (metered lot); In the Lowell National Historical Park lot off Dutton Street, across the canal, 1 block East of the WHMA.
