Social & Welfare Services in Pittsburgh, PA The Wilkinsburg Community Ministry develops, facilitates and delivers programs to understand the physical, social, economic and spiritual requirements of Wilkinsburg families, individuals and member congregations. Our Social Service Programs include Meals on Wheels, Children's Meal Partnership, Angel Food Ministries, Emergency Food Pantry, Holiday Food Drive, Dollar Energy Application Assistance. Wilkinsburg Community Ministry was set up in 1968 in response to the changing social climate of the area.

read moreWilkinsburg Community Ministry provides services to approximately 5,000 residents per year, including senior citizens, citizens with disabilities, at-risk youth, and families who are economically challenged, unemployed, under-employed or facing emergency situations. The outcomes of our programs include reducing hunger in Wilkinsburg, ensuring the health and well-being of our senior citizen neighbors, helping economically-challenged families have basic necessities, such as food, diapers, clothing, and heat in their homes, and keeping Wilkinsburg streets safer through partnerships with educational and after-school youth programs.

Come to our office or give us a call if you would like to participate in a specific program - many opportunities exist! If you enjoy organizing office space or donated goods, we can use your help sorting through and setting up our donated clothing and food items through our Urban Survival Program. If you have time to dedicate outside of the WCM office and office hours there are opportunities for you, too.
