They founded the Wilmington Academy of Arts and Sciences (WAAS) in 1997, becoming the only school in the area that caters exclusively to academically gifted students in grades 4-8. WAAS offers a holistic approach to education. Core subjects such as biology, chemistry, math, history and language arts come alive in our interactive classrooms. Spanish immersion and comprehensive art and music classes are also a signature part of our daily curriculum.
