Orthodontics
read moreStraight teeth contribute to a healthy mouth and proper jaw alignment. Crooked, crowded teeth making cleaning and maintenance difficult - this can lead to tooth decay, gum disease, and tooth loss. Orthodontic problems also contribute to abnormal wear on tooth surfaces, inefficient chewing, excessive stress on supporting tissues, and misalignment of the jaw joints. With a constant, gentle force, braces slowly move teeth to the correct position. Braces have changed as dentistry has advanced, so metal bands with brackets are not your only choice.

In fact, the high-speed film we use minimizes ionizing radiation that is passed along to the patient. The amount of radiation a patient is exposed to is less than that the exposure the natural atmosphere exposes a person to over about eight weeks. Radiograph technicians step out of the room while X-rays are being taken because they see many patients and take many X-rays.
