SCOPE AND HISTORY OF THE FIRM'S PRACTICE. The history of our company is that Richard W. Yarling established the company in 1963. He had been practicing insurance defense law with the company of Smith & Yarling since 1949. The company has a general trial and appellate practice in the areas of negligence, insurance, commercial, corporation, product liability, probate law and probate and estate planning law. The insurance areas are defense of insureds in automobile, homeowners, commercial and product liability cases. In addition, we're engaged in representation of insurers in cases involving direct actions against the insurers, coverage questions and subrogation.
