I was born just before my father purchased his Chevrolet dealership in Joliet, Illinois. I grew up in the dealership and had most every job in the store, starting from the time I was old enough (and even before that) to work. When I was a young child, I would ask why a plumber or a workman at my house did not drive a Chevy truck or a Bill Jacobs vehicle. I have always maintained that the worst punishment I could remember as a child was when my father once told me that I could not go to the dealership for a week.
