Christ The Redeemer Anglican

Churches in Norfolk, VA
Churches in Norfolk, VA In August 2004, a tiny body of believers started praying for those in and around the city of Norfolk, Virginia. Several of us felt called to plant a new church that would be - among many other things - loving, biblically faithful, spirit filled, and radically mission minded. Southeastern Virginia, with a population of 1. 6 million, is home to a huge population of un-churched and spiritually disconnected people.

Children & Family Ministry Corner
read moreWe LOVE children at Christ the Redeemer and are committed to partnering with our families in raising them to know and love Jesus and to grow up to become like him. Our NURSERY is open for our youngest members and is staffed by loving members of our community. Our Greeters at either entrance will be able to direct you to our spacious, bright room. The nursery goes from birth to age 2. Nursery aged children can be dropped off in the nursery at the beginning of the service, or if theirparents wish to keep them until the older kids leave for Sunday School, they may do so.
Prayer Ministry
read moreAt its heart, the Christian life is a relationship that is sustained and deepened through personal communication with God and with one another- especially, through the disciplines associated with worship and prayer. At Christ the Redeemer we value prayer highly. We offer many different opportunities to participate in and deepen our life of prayer. As an Anglican community we organize around the daily prayers of the church known as the Daily Offices of Morning and Evening Prayer. Several times a year we gather for special times of prayer (or for teaching about prayer).
Youth Ministry
read moreOur congregation meets every week for worship. We are a liturgical church that uses the lectionary for preaching and teaching. Hopefully parents and teens will be able to have great conversations about what each learned that morning. We are big believers in having our youth involved in the ministries and mission of the church as a whole. For example, our youth are encouraged to use their gifts, talents, and passions in a wide variety of ministries: the worship band, reading scripture during worship, operating the soundboard, helping with church-wide events, etc.
