read moreThe Clifton Steamboat Museum opened its doors on October 26, 1995 with construction beginning in the earlier months of 1994. The theme of the museum is Heroes. Past, Present and Future, and honors our military and civilian heroes. David W. Hearn, Jr., founder of the Clifton Steamboat Museum, was interested in history, and, for many years, collected artifacts and reference material for a museum. Mr. Hearn fondly remembered his trip with his grandfather, H.J. Clifton, Sr., to see the Clifton's walking beam at the Port of Beaumont in 1936.

read moreLast Friday of the month at 9:30 am - There will be not Story Time for the month of December. Join us at the Clifton for Story Time. You and your child will have the opportunity to enjoy story time, sing songs and do a craft. This is a free event. Barre at the Bar is the perfect cure for the Monday Blues! Barre is a rhythm based exercise that combines yoga, pilates, dance techniques, and strength training for a low impact/ high intensity workout. Join Melody Butler, at O'Hearn's Pub at the Clifton Steamboat Museum and Event Complex.

The Clifton Steamboat Museum consists of a spacious 24,000 square feet, two-story museum that is handicap accessible, and contains various exhibits that are sure to attract individuals of all ages. The theme of the museum is Heroes. Past, Present, and Future, honoring both our military and civilian heroes. Our museum exhibits bring to life the wars fought in Southeast Texas and Louisiana, as well as World Wars I and II, Korea, and Vietnam.
