Continuing Education in Cambridge, MA Mudflat Studio inc. has provided the metropolitan Boston community an exceptional opportunity for clay work and play since 1971. As both an exciting, professionally run ceramics school and home to 18 clay artists, Mudflat follows its goal to promote and expand awareness and interest in the ceramic arts. Together, the school and studio form a dynamic community centered on a single medium and a shared creative process.

About Us
read moreMudflat Studios is a non-profit organization in Somerville, Massachusetts, offering classes, workshops, outreach programing and events focusing on the ceramic arts. We foster an environment where students and artists can be creative, receive a rich and varied educational experience and participate in a large artistic community. Our goal is to share our passion for working with clay, and encourage our students to discover ways to express themselves working with this responsive material, creating functional, sculptural and decorative work.
Classes
read moreStudents with previous clay experience can pursue their own projects outside of a structured class in Independent Study. This program provides access to classroom space during all Open Lab Hours throughout the semester. Private Lessons are available for students who want the option of one-on-one teaching to further explore a particular skill. The fee is $110 per hour-long lesson which. For previously enrolled Mudflat students who have space to work at a home studio. This program allows you to make work at another location and bring it to Mudflat for firings in our kilns by our technical staff.
